Mandoran is back!?

5 Centimeters Per Second [Dual-Audio 1080p v2].mkv_snapshot_00.28.29_[2014.11.18_03.46.56]So, I think it’s been a whole year since I last posted something worth of notice. It’s been a heck of an emotional ride before I finally got to writing this post. In short, I decided to take a mental break after some personal circumstances. I stalled blogging my diary entries about my life in Japan since it became too much time consuming, a common problem of procrastination. Alas, I couldn’t find the time during my summer break since I had to write my final report and participated in two exchange programs. If people are interested, I could write about those in detail to wrap up the good things that happened during the latter part of the exchange.

A Week in Kumamoto 0: Arrival

 photo DSC00219.jpg
Welcome to my new blogpost series, “A Week in Kumamoto”. This series features a post every week where I highlight all the interesting stuff I come across during my stay in Kumamoto. I’m allowed to reside in Japan for a whole year, but my residency at the Kumamoto University International House is only up to September 12th, 2014. We’ll see by then if I decide to go home earlier due to my third year having already started by that time.  I reckon the first few weeks will be pretty eventful, so I hope I can provide enough pictures and all to make up for it!

Hey there, readers. By the time you’re reading this, I’m probably already on the plane (or just on the way) towards Germany or Japan. I just wanted to tell you all that the spam is now over, and I will revert to weekly posting in the weekend regarding relevant experiences in that specific week. You can no longer contact me through telephone, but chrouya@gmail.com will still be checked daily. Before I want to end this post, however, I just want to finish up the last things that were on my mind. I’ve been working on some series a long time ago, but I didn’t even take the effort of putting them on this site. That’s why I’ll give each series a short notice on this blog. I’ve realized that I’m not fit for long posts; I lack the time for that, so I’m dropping the idea of release posts, and I might just give short opinions on series as they air/when I see them.

The Monbukagakushō Scholarship

In approximately a week I leave for my wonderful stay in Japan for a year. Two months ago I wrote a short update about the Monbukagakusho Scholarship. Now that it’s finally reaching the final stages, I reckon that many people are pretty interested in knowing how I actually got this scholarship and how it all works, so I’ll just devote one post into explaining how this works so maybe you can go to Japan for a whole year like me. Do note that you need to be a Japanese Studies student in order to be accepted for this specific scholarship.
