Yes, this event was more than half a year ago, but as I stated already, I’m cleaning up all posts that are overdue so that I’ll have a clean conscience about my blog. I will pretty much spam my blog with multiple posts a day until my depart. Back on topic: Every year, the Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands hosts this event called the Japanese Public Speaking Contest in Den Haag. It’ll be the second time participating in this event, but the first time I had no clue how this contest actually worked. This time, however, I put much effort in it; I even got assistance from a lot of Japanese native teachers at my university and we even had some practise beforehand.
In approximately a week I leave for my wonderful stay in Japan for a year. Two months ago I wrote a short update about the Monbukagakusho Scholarship. Now that it’s finally reaching the final stages, I reckon that many people are pretty interested in knowing how I actually got this scholarship and how it all works, so I’ll just devote one post into explaining how this works so maybe you can go to Japan for a whole year like me. Do note that you need to be a Japanese Studies student in order to be accepted for this specific scholarship.
Now that we’re finally up-to-date and all, I can tell about the things that are on my to-do list before I leave to Japan… Again. Yes, I haven’t told you about that matter officially on this blog yet, so I’ll post that in the very near future, that’s probably tomorrow. But for now, I’ll fill you in on what’s actually going to appear on the site the coming week. It’s going to be quite the message, so you can skim to the parts that are interesting to you. But first of all, let me refer you to the pictures I made on my recent trip to the Kansai region of Japan. This was supposed to be an academic excursion but it’s really hard to make appointments when the other party is more than 2000 kilometres away from you. It ended up being more for leisure, but frankly I don’t really care too much about it. I have learnt quite a bit about leadership though, and I’ll carry this experience throughout my life. Go and check out the pictures over here… although I didn’t make that many in the end.
I remember working on the first Robotics;Notes season as well, but I only wrote down the romaji so that other translators could work on it. Call it lazy, but I wasn’t too interested in working on this series. So what if it’s another one in the series after Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate…It’s still basically about making the things I don’t like that much. Indeed, mecha. I don’t want your big robot in front of my door. Nevertheless, the character designs are cool, I guess. So here are some lyrics of the second opening and ending! (Yes, I had to finish my paragraph with lyrics somehow!)
Have some nice music since I have no picture to cover this post with.
Yes, I’ve been away for over a month, which isn’t a good thing as a blogger. The new year starts with a lot of resolutions but you’ll have to get used to the changes you’ll make in life. I wanted to leave out blogging until I was done with all my tests and papers of this semester, but sadly several deadlines have been extended so many times that there’s no gap between my first and second semester anymore. There might be some days of inactivity, but I will surely post all the release posts and lyrics I haven’t been able to post so far.
