Haisai! After like, one and half years, I finally decided to go through all these episodes in one session. Luckily, they’re only 3 minutes each, so that saves a lot of time. However, since they have a lot of Okinawan Japanese that I don’t understand, I’ve had my fair amount of research before I was able to finish all of this. The quality of the translations may vary because somewhere in the middle I was contemplating whether I should continue with this project or not. I decided to give it one more roll but I’m more motivated to watch than to actually translate it considering the expected amount of people that will actually get to see these scripts. That all said and done, let’s get to the episodes!
There we go, the last Accel World special. What a lot of puns we’ve gone through. I don’t think I can translate another pork related joke for a while now. This one was actually quite easy, and I think I just made up a translation note thinking that there’s a reason why they chose for a Christmas episode for a final one. I guess the mood is still there, as it’s still snowing in the Netherlands, but spring is already greeting us…
Only one more to go. This one is also blasted with translation notes, most of them right at the beginning. Note that the second part of the story is heavily focused on a pun related to Ultraman, which most Western people haven’t watched at all… Unless you’re into monster shows, of course. Are you familiar with the term kaijuu?
Only two specials remain after this one! As nonsensical as this is, there’s still a lot of translation notes to spare. Maybe even more than the list of notes I had to make for the batch release of Little Busters! I have to say that most of these puns are really dumb but I guess it’s good enough for a laugh.
