R.I.P., Sigh Subs (for this season). You’ve done the best you could. At least, so I’d like to think. The typesetters left one by one as they met the board full of posters in episode 4. I also had my troubles. While I’m sitting here at my dorm, I don’t think I could’ve handled the stress of working on a whole episode every week as well. I’m sadly not efficient enough to translate at a fast pace at the moment. So here’s where we drop this project. If you want to keep watching this series, I recommend the subs from Pomf! They’re fast, and I know they have some decent quality. Perhaps not the best (they are for now right now), but it’s really nice for the time spent on it.
That is exactly the face I’m having when I look at how far I’m behind with my blog. I’m working on it though. This is episode two of the Love, Elections and Chocolate series. All are interesting, except for the elections. We have them here in the Netherlands as well, and it makes me remind of this series every time. And the sign horror that comes afterwards. All those posters, fake flattery, and whatever ways of cheating they use. I’ll be honest with you, I’m bad with politics, so perhaps I just chose the wrong anime to work on. So much jargon, but perhaps it’ll have its use in the future.
So what happens in this episode? It has been so long, I can’t really remember any more. It’s probably something about how Yuuki will (not) enter himself for the elections. He’s got guts…I have to admit it. I wouldn’t be able to advertise myself like that.
This time without the opening, since that was done by someone else. I’d have to ask his permission if I could upload the opening lyrics onto my website. Will do that if people ask for it.
Or I could just credit our second translator, us4gim4ru, for translating the opening in my stead…While I’m displaying his fine translating qualities on my blog. Working until deep in the night isn’t something I like to do, so he has my thanks. Changed it according to my romaji styling for this blog.
I’ve worked on the ED with several other translators for Sigh, so it should be OK. There’s only one word that sounds off, so we could wait for eventual official lyrics but I doubt a change in translation is necessary. I actually thought this was the opening song at first… so it’s really nice as an ED. Not many EDs catch my attention. Update: This word seems to be correct, so no change was needed after all!
It’s one of the anime I chose to translate myself, Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate! Visual novel adaptations still seem to be quite the hype on my side. We Sigh Subs are an assembled group for what was meant as quick and neat releases, but we ended up in…translator and typesetter hell. We didn’t end up like Tsumiki, which was a group solely working on Acchi Kocchi. Perhaps, we are actually nothing but a real sigh. I don’t want to though, so that’s why I’ll still put up all the releases we’ve done so far on the blogosphere.
Which episode is out right now? 11, right? Seems my post is 10 weeks behind then. As you would expect, we didn’t make it through the whole season. Actually, we hit rock bottom right after…the start? It never went well, did it. I did what I could though, so if you ever wanted to check out main translations coming from me, this is the perfect chance. Of course, the full finished script takes a nice lot of my errors away, so you can’t really blame me personally for any left mistakes. Unless you disagree with my level of literal translating.
This anime is one of my favourite animes of this season though, so I will definitely finish watching it. Just not working on it any more.
Actually I’m already working on the second episode of this series while I made this post, but it had to be done. First things first, as they say. I’m gaining bit by bit. Anyway, this is one of my picks for Summer 2012. I’m actually appointed as the main TL here, which gives me quite the amount of stress. I hope it’ll all work out. This PV shows nothing more but an introduction of the characters, and a nice song which isn’t featured in the anime itself. It happens to be the general ED theme of the visual novel. For the people who are interested in the lyrics and a download link, read on.
