[Doki] Dog Days’ 9

My notes are based on the following release.

We’re getting somewhere, finally! Now Éclair enters the spotlight, having a whole episode focussed on her qualms of love. It’s really bitter-sweet. After all, she’s a tsundere who can’t deny her feelings for the almighty hero. Who everyone loves. Apparently.

Just like previous episode, I do not really have many comments on this release. Even the amount of TLC notes is barren.

Translation Notes
Full report found here; alternatively, check out my other reports on my online portfolio!
Due to me being mostly a translation checker instead of a translator, the way I write notes is different as well. I’m not really fond of having to watch an episode multiple times, so I’m not skimming through the whole episode to find me some interesting facts here and there. In TLC cases, most of the times I’ll be jumping to several of the TLC notes I made and give a small comment about it…probably reflecting the original translation.

That’s right!{this line is said by cou and omg her accent can kill me tlc onegai~}
Alligator!

I do not understand why they didn’t take my suggestion. “Nano desu” doesn’t hold any information at all, aside from repeating what the other just said. I couldn’t have found a better place to make use of a pun here. Have Crunchyroll scripts poisoned me or something?

That’s why being honest and…{she keeps saying half sentences eclair wa baka~!!}
I tell you, that’s not the problem…

Like the main translator mentioned, it’s really hard to translate a sentence when it’s half-baked from the start. With that, I mean the sentence isn’t even complete, so where do we start? There’s no verb to work with, so we’ll have to think of something. There’s a word coming by, meaning “honest”, but I’d leave it out unlike the original translation. Literally, I could make “It has nothing to do with honesty…” of it.
