[Doki] Dog Days’ 6

My notes are based on the following release.

I have no idea what to write for these releases any more. Perhaps I should’ve done this all on time, because now it’s just gradually losing quality by every post.

I could give a short preview about what you’re going to see. For instance, new introduced characters! Yay! They’re called the Hero Kings. Or rather, the Hero King and the Demon King. The ancestors of the current leaders. And some more silliness. But you’ll have to find out yourself.

Translation Notes
Full report found here; alternatively, check out my other reports on my online portfolio!
Due to me being mostly a translation checker instead of a translator, the way I write notes is different as well. I’m not really fond of having to watch an episode multiple times, so I’m not skimming through the whole episode to find me some interesting facts here and there. In TLC cases, most of the times I’ll be jumping to several of the TLC notes I made and give a small comment about it…probably reflecting the original translation.

Nanami has been treating me with earth oil massages.
Nanami has been treating me with Earth’s so-called oil massages.

It’s about planet Earth. Apparently, oil massages are unknown in Flonyard, therefore she says “Earth-styled”. Strange. how can they not know of oil massages when they originate from back in the Roman Empire? Weren’t they all Italian? Although the name of Leo is half-French, half-Italian, so maybe she was left out of that habit.

Just remember that your ruler is your ruler before anything else. Don’t try to get too involved with them, you silly girls. {For a Hero to hold deep love, his ruler is the basic rule you young girls. }{TLC plz}
Having deep affections for your ruler is nothing special for a Hero, you silly girls.

I just had to put this in my blog post because Cinque is the most cocky in the whole series in this scene. Hence why the “kimitachi” is liberally translated as “you silly girls”. And ugh, that kind of tone doesn’t fit him. The original translation went haywire when the “basic rule” was translated literally. Here, it means the utmost usual thing for a Hero. To serve your ruler…although they’re slightly pointing towards the “feelings” kind of setting.

Let’s raise a storm. {tlc onegai ne~]
Tempest, arise!

The imperative form is used in this sentence, like “Ariseth, oh tempest!”, taking tempest as the subject of the sentence. Using a volitional sounds a bit too nice for his style of character.

From what mouth are those words coming from, huh?{she is asking him from who’s mouth are those words coming from as what he said made her embarresed ok?~}
Don’t embarrass me with your fake flattery!

Aww, I was in for the QC’s liberal alternative, but I guess it didn’t pass the final check, namely the project leader himself. I would’ve thought my suggestion was better, but I guess the most important thing about this line is that it’s a question, and not some kind of crude statement.
