A look back at 2016

[This is a Facebook post, 1 month prior]

Hey there everyone, how is it going?

As some might have expected, this year went pretty poorly, perhaps even worse than last year. However, each time there was a different cause, and each time I learn more about myself. Perfection comes with its perks but also its downsides, especially with laziness. I am pretty able of focusing on a single thing for hours without taking a break, but that can also break my rhythm in the long run. Due to this, I usually procrastinate since I usually want to do something in one go, from start to finish… And I also cannot focus on anything else at the same time.

A new year, with hopes of progress.

[DarkHollow] Little Busters NCOP2 [BD][x264,720p,FLAC][10Bit][373AE286].mkv_snapshot_00.53_[2015.11.19_18.30.02]Hey there, those who are still lingering on my website. Good morning to some, evening to others. For me, it’s 2 AM (4 AM when I was done writing) which is more and more of a common theme in my daily life, though today it’s more or less due to a bug entering my room keeping me awake. And a bit of food poisoning. But for the most part, it’s the pent up feelings that are keeping me up right now. It seems to be habit of mine to reflect upon the year and write them down on this blog. Sadly, there’s not much of a change compared to last year, so be warned for lots of negativity emitting from this post. This will be a very personal post.

[Script Batch] Haitai Nanafa S2

Haitai Nanafa (2013) - 10 (AT-X HD! 1280x720 x264 AAC).mp4_snapshot_01.34_[2015.03.06_06.06.32]Haisai! After like, one and half years, I finally decided to go through all these episodes in one session. Luckily, they’re only 3 minutes each, so that saves a lot of time. However, since they have a lot of Okinawan Japanese that I don’t understand, I’ve had my fair amount of research before I was able to finish all of this. The quality of the translations may vary because somewhere in the middle I was contemplating whether I should continue with this project or not. I decided to give it one more roll but I’m more motivated to watch than to actually translate it considering the expected amount of people that will actually get to see these scripts. That all said and done, let’s get to the episodes!

[Convention] TsunaCon 2015

DSCN9925Finally, we’re getting to the bigger conventions now. TsunaCon is considered to be the part of the Dutch Big Three anime conventions, but there’s something interesting about the Big Three. While this is the shortest convention during only one day from 11:00 to 23:00, it is also considered the most popular of all three, which is quite surprising. You’d expect AnimeCon or AbunaiCon to be at least more successful since they last over the weekends. However, AnimeCon has lately been labelled as quite the elitist convention with high prices and unneeded high culture, so to say. On the opposite, AbunaiCon has been switching locations here and there, and now it’s in a position where people kind of get lost in the venue. I personally prefer AbunaiCon since it’s close and I can volunteer for the weekend, but let’s talk about TsunaCon right now.

[Convention] We Love Japan 2015

DSCN9812Happy Valentine’s Day! Or at least, those are the words uttered on the day I went to this convention in Rotterdam, fittingly called We Love Japan. I actually should speak of an event rather than a convention, since this time the location is even smaller than the previously mentioned church in Arnhem. I’m not sure how to call this place, it seems more like the plaza of an international youth hostel. In any case, I decided to go here since I bought a ticket at the aforementioned convention for again, 5 euros. I think we’re on to something here with cheap and small business. However, is it really something enjoyable? I’m afraid this is going to be a short post.
